Research Methods for Games User Research
Some research methods that I used frequently in my work as a games user researcher include the following:

Research methods are chosen based on client (e.g., AA-AAA studios such as Xbox Game Studios, Nexon, etc.) needs and research questions. Methods are combined for better qualitative and quantitative investigations of game design issues (e.g., combining usability testing with player interviews for deeper player insights). Results have informed multiple game feature changes, and have lasting impact on the player experience.
